The Easter holidays is always a busy period for Racing NSW, and it is no different in 2021, with six country and picnic meetings scheduled to be held across Saturday and Sunday.
Unfortunately, Saturday’s Lightning Ridge meeting has been abandoned due to wet weather, with the club making the tough decision to not hold their race day as early as Thursday, but meetings at Moruya, Port Macquarie and Tocumwal will still proceed.
The best of Southern Districts Racing will head to Tocumwal too, with the club especially excited to be racing after missing out in 2020.
The $20,000 Gold Cup over the 1300m headlines a strong six-race-card and the club’s once-a-year meeting.
On Easter Sunday, country racing moves to Mudgee and Nowra, while the annual Back o Bourke meeting will be the weekend’s picnic event.
The club will host the Harry Hart Memorial Picnic Cup, which is worth a generous $10,000 and has attracted travelling trainers Bryan Dixon, Brett Robb, Kieren Hazleton, Allan Prisk and Connie Greig.
