Seven-year-old galloper, Helstar, will make a return to racing in the Binnaway Jockey Club Cup on Saturday after 48-weeks on the sideline.
Funnily enough, when winning in 2019, Helstar was coming off a 28-week spell, and connections will be hoping their old stager, who will be under the guidance of Mick Heagney, can replicate the same type of effort.
The Dubbo runner who jumps from gate nine, isn’t the only Lunn runner, with stable veteran Zoutenant, drawn in gate four with Kath Bell-Pitomatic in the saddle.
Lunn won’t have it all his own way though, with a good field highlighted by three last-start winners, including the Clint Lundholm trained Sticks ‘N’ Stones, Luke Thomas’ Chuisle and Northern Conqueror for Bob Howe.
The $9,000 Binnaway Cup highlights a good six-race-card of Western Districts racing.
Gates Open at 11:30am with the first race jumping at 1:30pm.
