Wet weather wasn’t kind to NSW Country racing participants on Sunday and Monday with both the Moree and Gundagai meetings postponed due to the state of their respective tracks following consistent rain across most of the state.
Additionally, Wellington’s meeting that was slated to be held on Monday was transferred to Wednesday following the advice of stewards, who deemed the track unsuitable for racing after the wet weather.
The Wellington meeting being moved by Racing NSW was a good decision for everybody involved, with 114 acceptances across the strong eight-race-program.
Racing NSW are yet to announce if the Moree meeting, which was meant to host the $40,000 Moree Cup and $32,000 Moree Plate, or the Gundagai Sky 2 meeting, will be postponed to a later date or abandoned altogether.
This coming week, country racing takes participants all taken over the state.
